My Sony Vaio (with all my data and work on it!) is not booting. I think it´s a power issue... Does anybody know good laptop repair service in London????
you could try talking to the computer lab guys, maybe they can help u cos they usually build computers from scratch. if not they can always recommend u someone to go to.. or maybe find someone with the same model n try their adaptor instead?
maybe it's not much help, but don't worry about the data for now. unless the whole thing has "schmelted" then there's always a way to get the drive out and recover the data somehow.
you should have seen the rituals i developed last year to resuscitate my iBook!!!
if you haven't already, take the battery out and let the thing rest for a while and see if it'll power up on the power suppply alone.
and for "repair service" - you could try MicroAnvika. they have several shops on Tottenham Court Road and are a sony retailer, but they usually charge £50 just to have a look (which i think then gets subtracted from your final mega-bill if they find a problem...either way, you pay...)
